Twin
Lakes Park
Durham, North Carolina
This underutilized 50-acre community park came
to life with the construction its renovation/ expansion plan. An extensive
site analysis and an interactive process with neighboring residents
directed the plan in a way that broadens its recreational offerings
while preserving its passive woodland character. New play areas and
family picnic clusters are concentrated on the central ridgetop optimizing
lake views. Soccer fields are located on a broad upland area well buffered
by existing woods. A shoreline trail winds uphill linking various facilities
within the park. |
