Charlie Bradley Joins Lappas + Havener as Landscape Designer.
LHPA Landscape Master Plan for the Pines at Davidson approved by Board of Directors.
The landscape master plan will direct improvements for campus landscape, new gardens and collections, and outdoor gathering spaces. The Pines at Davidson is the only continuing care retirement community east of the Mississippi River that is registered with the American Public Gardens Association.
Lappas + Havener, PA Begins Work on Horseshoe Farm Park.
Horseshoe Farm Park is a 146-acre former farm situated on an oxbow of the Neuse River in North Raleigh. Part of the property has been designated a Significant Natural Heritage Area. The plans call for preservation of this park as an environmental and arts education nature park.
NC Museum of Art Expansion Nearing Completion: Opening April 2010
The North Carolina Museum of Art will re-open its doors in April with the grand opening of the newly completed 127,000-square-foot building designed by Thomas Phifer and Partners. Lappas + Havener, PA designed the sculpture courtyards, entry plaza, landscape, stormwater, and coordinated the site development.

Grand Opening of Campbell University’s Butler Chapel
Campbell University’s 20,000-square-foot Butler Chapel held its grand opening in December. Lappas + Havener, PA designed the prayer garden and bell tower courtyard for the new building.

Lappas + Havener Receives Honorable Mention in Raleigh’s Moore Square Competition.
Lappas + Havener, PA partnered with Frank Harmon Architects to submit for the City of Raleigh’s Moore Square Competition, an opportunity for the public to one of Raleigh’s oldest signature downtown destinations. The Lappas + Havener, PA team won Honorable Mention for their design submission.

Former Wakelon School awarded an Anthemion Award by Capital Area Preservation.
The rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of the former Wakelon School in Zebulon was awarded an Anthemion Award by the Capital Area Preservation, in recognition of outstanding dedication and commitment to excellence in historic preservation in Wake County, North Carolina. Lappas + Havener provided site design and landscape architecture for this project, which now serves as the Zebulon Town Hall.

Pittsboro Town Park.
Groundbreaking on the Pittsboro Town Park started September 21st. The Town expects construction to finish by the end of the year.

LHPA Begins Work on New Wake Med Hospital.
LHPA begins work on the new Harnett County Brightwater Campus Wake Med Hospital with Perkins + Will. The hospital will be the first project to be completed in the Brightwater Campus Master Plan completed by LHPA in 2007.
Duke Fuqua Expansion Complete.
Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business expansion was recently completed. The expansion is the second in five years; Lappas + Havener, PA provided site design for both phases.
