Broughton Psychiatric Hospital

The new 382-bed psychiatric hospital in Morganton, NC will provide acute and long-term mental health care for patients. Within the building being designed by the Freelon Group, LHPA is designing courtyards that must provide for therapeutic uses while remaining flexible enough to accommodate changes in treatment strategies over time. A primary challenge on the site has been to place buildings and parking lots in a way that disrupts historic buildings and their surrounding topography as little as possible.

Raleigh Senior Centers

Lappas + Havener is working with HH Architecture and LifeSpan on the new Whitaker Mill and Millbrook Exchange Senior Centers. These facilities will accommodate increased recreational, educational and social programs.

Fayetteville State University Stormwater Management Plan

Lappas + Havener, PA is developing campus-wide strategies for managing stormwater runoff, combining water quality enhancements with educational opportunities.

Carolina Meadows Continuing Care Retirement Community

Lappas + Havener recently completed a Master Plan for the 164-acre continuing care retirement community that calls for an expansion of residences, renovation of existing facilities and the construction of a new healthcare building. The Phase I expansion currently underway includes 30 new LEED-certified Villas. LHPA is providing landscape design, stormwater management and the design of a new community garden area for the expansion.
